Marathon Training Plan

This training plan is an 18-week plan to help athletes train for their next marathon. The mileage in this plan ranges from 33 miles (at week 1) to 55 miles (where the plan tops out at), with most weeks being in the mid-40’s for mileage. Athletes training for a road marathon may have varying levels of experience (years running, years performing speed sessions, trail running experience, etc.). Because of this, I created this plan at an intermediate level. With that said, I do believe runners of all levels could follow this plan successfully. I created this training plan based off my Buckeye Marathon training plan where I ran a 2:56:53 marathon to BQ in 2023.

Also included in this training plan are two pages of notes and advice from Coach Stefan to help you train for your next marathon.
